HM The Queens Jubilee Celebrations


 We’ve waited 70 years for this – let’s celebrate together!!


All residents of Wadhurst and it’s surrounding villages are hereby invited to gather and celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of our beloved Queen Elizabeth II.

To mark this auspicious occasion, community events have been arranged by many local organisations, all of which are being made freely available, without charge, to all local residents.

Thursday June 2nd
Wadhurst Village Flag Bearing and Beacon Lighting      

Come and be seen at the Commemoration Hall in your Red, White and Blue Jubilee finery and enjoy the splendid decorations of the High St!

From 2pm, The Town Crier will make proclamations outside the Commemoration Hall and then the War Memorial , to announce the lighting of the Village Beacon and to raise the Wadhurst Village Jubilee flags. Please join the Town Crier in procession from the Commemoration Hall to the War Memorial

At 8pm, at the Commemoration Hall and Field, Washwell Lane, you are cordially invited to gather to enjoy an evening of musical celebration and family events including live Music from local band Barnstorm, Royal Face Painting for children, Fireworks to music, the lighting of the Wadhurst Beacon and Music until 10.30pm

A Raffle Prize Draw from the gate will take place to award the Special Honour of lighting the Village Beacon to one lucky resident.


Saturday June 4th

The Great Wadhurst Jubilee Party on the Pitch

Organised and coordinated by various Community Groups

Join your friends and neighbours at the Commemoration Hall and Field, Washwell Lane, from 1pm for an afternoon of fun activities, arts and crafts, local stalls, live music and food and drink.

Bouncy castle and other amusements

and other musical groups from the Village.

You are welcome to bring a picnic and your own drinks or to enjoy
food and drink 
from a wide range of vendors.
